Members of the Penn State Swing Dance Club will teach an introductory lesson. No partner necessary, but bringing a friend is encouraged. Wear clothes comfortable for moving and smooth-soled shoes. Light refreshments will be served.

What’s ArtOut? Penn State students of all majors, interests, and abilities are invited to connect with each other and explore a range of creative experiences during one-hour sessions. No experience necessary. Bring a friend, and plan to make a friend or two.

Penn State students are invited to participate in a “petting zoo” and strum, pick, and play as many instruments as possible. No musical experience or instrument is necessary. Penn State School of Music students will be available to provide demonstrations and mini-lessons on each instrument displayed. It’s a great opportunity to revisit an instrument or experiment with a new one. Light refreshments will be served.

The one-hour workshop is a partnership with the Penn State College of Health and Human Development.

Interested in working with artists of other genres? Not sure where to start? Come with a question about cross-genre collaboration or a specific project you’re working on, and rotate through the room. This is a great opportunity to practice your two-minute pitch about your work. Be prepared to articulate who you are, what you’re interested in doing artistically, and your creative philosophy. Light refreshments will be served.

Members of Penn State’s In Memoriam Sketch Comedy will break down components of improv games to develop comedy sketches, particularly related to digital shorts. Students will respond to prompts focused on building energy around developing ideas. No comedy/improvisation experience required. Participants should wear clothes comfortable for moving. Light refreshments will be served.
