Crossover Reception with Woskob Family Gallery
Penn State Downtown Theatre Center’s Woskob Family Gallery
146 S. Allen St., State College
Woskob Family Gallery will host an opening reception and unveiling of the 2016–17 Woskob Wall installation by Brooklyn artist Katie Bell. The Woskob Wall is a new initiative that invites a contemporary artist to create a site-specific installation in the gallery’s lobby. Bell’s piece will be on display until July 2017. Her physical, sculptural paintings are composed of found material. She uses common building materials as elements that are tied, sawed, cut, thrown, and stacked into three-dimensional compositions unified by paint.
