Sue Marshall, head counselor at State College Area School District, will facilitate a community discussion on the power of dialogue for mental, emotional, and social well-being, and for shared understanding, acceptance, and community action. The Center for the Performing Arts is the lead activator for community action, using examples from the March 15 presentation of WILDERNESS, which helps to put an end to shame surrounding mental health issues, promotes community conversation, and sheds light on the emotions between young adults and their parents in twenty-first century America.

The musical ONCE encourages us to go for our dreams and shows us, on stage, how that can be done through the power of music. Café Lemont is known for its intimate environment, which makes it an ideal setting to share music with one another. Bring an acoustic musical instrument, and plan to play for a minimum of fifteen minutes (or longer, depending on the number of musicians who sign up). Penn State School of Music faculty members and students will perform selected compositions by Joseph Hallman. The composer will introduce each piece. The program includes Four Pieces, featuring flutist Naomi Seidman and pianist Christopher Guzman; Second to None, performed by Seidman, cellist Jonathan Dexter, and harpist Anne Sullivan; and an untitled work featuring the Penn State Flute Studio and Woodwind Octet.
