Zapateado Dance Workshop

The 45-minute workshop is a partnership with Schlow Centre Region Library.

New York City-based musician and actor Sinuhé  Padilla  will lead a free virtual workshop on  zapateadoZapato is Spanish for shoe. Zapatear means to strike with a shoe. 

Zapateado is a  popular community dance in Latin America, especially in Mexico. It’s characterized by the stamping of feet and by the striking of the dancer’s shoes to create  music. It’s an expression of passion.
