Saxophonist Maceo Parker, who helped pioneer the sounds of soul and funk with the likes of James Brown and George Clinton, will perform “It’s All About Love” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, in Eisenhower Auditorium.

Imani Winds and Catalyst Quartet will join talents for “(Im)migration: music of change,” a 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, concert at Schwab Auditorium featuring the world premiere of a work by Catalyst violinist and composer Jessie Montgomery.

The Emmet Cohen Trio provided the instrumentals for last season’s Center for the Performing Arts at Penn State concert featuring vocalist Veronica Swift.

The Center for the Performing Arts at Penn State has announced its 2019–2020 season, which includes a seven-performance Centre County premiere of the multiple award-winning Broadway musical “The Book of Mormon,” by the creators of “South Park” (Matt Stone and Trey Parker).

Lam and Lina Hood grew up during the Great Depression in families who subsisted on the basics, but they found ways to enjoy various events and give back to their communities.
