Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Mavis Staples and seven-time Grammy Award-nominated vocalist Joan Osborne will join forces in a “Solid Soul” tour concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, in Eisenhower Auditorium.

Husband-and-wife banjo virtuosos Béla Fleck and Abigail Washburn blend his bluegrass-to-jazz-to-classical instrumentals with her Chinese and Appalachia-influenced, claw-hammered style plus vocals to result in what NPR describes as the sound of two banjos engrossed in conversation.

The public is invited to attend “Bilingual Bluegrass”—a collaboration between Abigail Washburn and the Penn State Asian Classical Music Club—at 2:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, in the Deike Portrait Gallery.

Banjo duo Béla Fleck and Abigail Washburn will contribute the proceeds from merchandise sold at their Thursday, Oct. 22, concert in Eisenhower Auditorium to the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon.

The Center for the Performing Arts at Penn State will present “Clifford the Big Red Dog Live!,” a big family musical, at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, in Eisenhower Auditorium.
