Ex Machina / Robert Lepage and Cirque FLIP Fabrique
SLAM!

7:30 pm Wednesday, October 30, 2024

Famed Québécois playwright, stage director, and actor Robert Lepage; and Ex Machina, Lepage’s interdisciplinary production company, present the newest physical performance by cirque troupe FLIP Fabrique.

SLAM! is a hypertheatre spectacle, both poetic and kinetic, where acrobats embody a gallery of characters in and out of the ring. SLAM! is where a kilted Scotsman and a muscular superhero, an Amazon warrior woman and a contortionist Barbie, and a luchador and a diabolo master all face off in the ring and highlight a range of acrobatics — hand-to-hand juggling, physical twists, and displays of strength. Opponents contrast and highlight each other’s skills, while the audience cheers its heroes and boos its villains.
