The Maria Schneider Orchestra, called a national treasure by NPR, will perform a concert featuring the world premiere of a work co-commissioned by the Center for the Performing Arts at Penn State at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 14, in Eisenhower Auditorium.

“Chicago,” which opened to rave reviews Nov. 14, 1996, is the longest-running American musical in Broadway history, and it shows no sign of slowing down. The Tony Award-winning show will return to the Center for the Performing Arts at Penn State for two performances—7:30 p.m.

The Center for the Performing Arts at Penn State will welcome Dallas Children’s Theater in a presentation of “The BFG (Big Friendly Giant)” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 8, in Eisenhower Auditorium.

Moscow Festival Ballet will perform “The Sleeping Beauty,” often called the finest achievement of classical ballet, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 31, in Eisenhower Auditorium.

Paul D. Miller—better known in hip-hop music, literary and art circles as DJ Spooky—has traveled to the ends of the Earth to collect data representing climate change for use in his sonic soundscapes.
