The Center for the Performing Arts at Penn State’s 2017–18 season features 24 events that celebrate artistic talents worldwide with productions that engage audiences and challenge them to experience a variety of cultures.

For the past five months, blue donation bins holding new and gently used books could be seen in the lobby of Eisenhower Auditorium. The ongoing donations were a part of the Center for the Performing Arts at Penn State’s book drive benefitting the Mid-State Literacy Council.

The national tour of “Annie,” now in its third year, will come to the Center for the Performing Arts at Penn State at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, in Eisenhower Auditorium.

Jessica Lang Dance, founded and led by a prolific choreographer and “ballet illusionist” (Los Angeles Times), will perform five of Lang’s creations at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, in Eisenhower Auditorium.

In 1996, an original rock musical by a little-known composer opened on Broadway and forever changed the landscape of American theater. Two decades later, Jonathan Larson’s “Rent” continues to speak loudly and defiantly to audiences across generations and across the world.
