In “An Astrophysicist Goes to the Movies—Pt. 1,” deGrasse Tyson focuses his sights on Hollywood blockbusters such as “Star Wars,” “Frozen,” “Armageddon,” “Titanic” and “The Martian” for an enlightening review from a science-based perspective. The program covers concepts that our favorite movies got wrong, as well as some of the stuff they got right. He will take a look at some more recent films as well as some classics that you may not have known had any science in them at all.
DeGrasse Tyson previously appeared at Penn State in 2011 to present the College of Engineering Arthur H. Waynick Memorial Lecture.
