Nationally touring jukebox musical ‘Jersey Boys’ returns to Eisenhower for performances April 17 and 18

Tickets are on sale for the Center for the Performing Arts at Penn State return engagement of the multiple award-winning jukebox musical “Jersey Boys.” The nationally touring Broadway production, a behind-the-scenes story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, will be at Eisenhower Auditorium for two performances at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, April 17 and 18.

Purchase tickets, which are $68 and $59 for an adult; $50 and $41 for a University Park student; and $51 and $42 for a person 18 and younger. A grant from the University Park Student Fee Board makes Penn State student prices possible.

Directed by two-time Tony Award-winner Des McAnuff, “Jersey Boys” won the 2006 Tony Award for Best Musical, the 2006 Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album, the 2009 Olivier Award for Best New Musical (London) and the 2010 Helpmann Award for Best Musical (Australia). “Jersey Boys” was written by Academy Award winner Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, with music by Bob Gaudio, lyrics by Bob Crewe and choreography by Sergio Trujillo.

Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons were just four guys from Jersey—until they sang their first note. They had a sound nobody had ever heard and the radio just couldn’t get enough of. But while their harmonies were perfect on stage, off stage it was a different story—a story that has made them an international sensation all over again. The “Jersey Boys” U.S. national tour opened to rave reviews in San Francisco on Dec. 1, 2006, and is still breaking house records in cities throughout North America. The production is touring the United Kingdom this spring and will tour Australia starting in September. “Jersey Boys” has been seen by more than 25 million people worldwide.
