Described as “ ‘The Simpsons’ meets Malcolm X at a Notorious B.I.G. concert,” The Mayhem Poets will share a love of wordplay with a slam-themed performance at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, in Schwab Auditorium.

Sybarite5, a classical string quintet that embraces the challenges of re-creating rock music and champions works by living composers, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, in Schwab Auditorium. The program will be announced from the stage.

The Performing Arts School of Central Pennsylvania will present “The Nutcracker” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, in Eisenhower Auditorium.

The world-famous Vienna Boys Choir will present “Christmas in Vienna” at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, in Eisenhower Auditorium. The Center for the Performing Arts at Penn State presentation will feature Austrian folk songs, classical masterpieces and holiday favorites.

Apollo’s Fire, The Cleveland Baroque Orchestra—directed by harpsichordist Jeannette Sorrell and accompanied by soprano Amanda Forsythe—will perform “The Power of Love: Passions of Handel and Vivaldi” at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, in Schwab Auditorium.
