Mindful Making
Art journals

3:00 pm Thursday, September 10, 2020

Eisenhower Auditorium patio tent

Free and open to students; limited to twenty participants

Mindful Making sees art as a meditative activity and aims to provide Penn State students with the space and permission to slow down, de-stress, and build community while adding to their self-care toolkits. Each session is 60 minutes.

Students will create art journals and discuss how to use them in their daily lives. Why art journals? It can be a great way to unwind and reflect on your experiences. Adding this visual element to journaling can be both freeing and empowering. Some things we experience are easier to express visually. Allowing yourself to make mistakes and experiment with the creative process can also be cathartic because we are not often allowed opportunities, by ourselves or by society, to fail.
