Event Description
Blink, step, jump, balance, flip, fly. The award-winning acrobatic event Ten Thousand Hours by Gravity & Other Myths is a love letter to our bodies and the amazing things they let us do every day!
Eight acrobats and one musician investigate physical skill—how we obtain it, how we perfect it, and how it can transform our lives. Through highlighting the nuance of high-level acrobatics, audiences experience a powerful journey of movement and discovery, where strength meets vulnerability, and the ordinary becomes extraordinary before your eyes. Set to a driving, dynamic, and intricate musical score using live percussion on stage, Ten Thousand Hours is a celebration of the distinct physical language that celebrates the pursuit of mastery.
Backed by a talented and frenetic percussionist, using only minimal props while wearing simple rehearsal attire, the troupe flawlessly weaves acrobatics, performance, fun and even a rehearsal into the mix as a digital clock counts down Ten Thousand Hours.
