Recital Hall

Attached to the first floor of Music Building I, Recital Hall seats 400 and serves as the primary venue for the Penn State School of Music’s student and faculty solo recitals and chamber music performances.

The hall, which opened in 2018, is home to two Hamburg Steinway D concert grand pianos.

“It’s aesthetically beautiful, and it was designed to simply be a front door for the School of Music and the College of Arts and Architecture,” Sue Haug, former director of the school, told the Centre Daily Times when the facility opened in 2018.

“Every angle, every decision, every material, every shape in the new space was designed for acoustic excellence,” she said.
