ArtOut Special Event
Crossover Reception with Woskob Family Gallery

5:30 pm Monday, October 10, 2016

Penn State Downtown Theatre Center’s Woskob Family Gallery
146 S. Allen St., State College

Free and open to the public

Woskob Family Gallery will host an opening reception and unveiling of the 2016–17 Woskob Wall installation by Brooklyn artist Katie Bell. The Woskob Wall is a new initiative that invites a contemporary artist to create a site-specific installation in the gallery’s lobby. Bell’s piece will be on display until July 2017. Her physical, sculptural paintings are composed of found material. She uses common building materials as elements that are tied, sawed, cut, thrown, and stacked into three-dimensional compositions unified by paint. The resulting works are hybrid objects that speak to the history of painting while occupying three-dimensional space. Light refreshments will be served.

What’s ArtOut? Penn State students of all majors, interests, and abilities are invited to connect with each other and explore a range of creative experiences during one-hour sessions. No experience necessary. Bring a friend, and plan to make a friend or two.
