Penn State Philharmonic Orchestra

The Penn State Philharmonic Orchestra presents a concert featuring Igor Stravinsky’s The Firebird Suite (1919 version), John Adams’ The Chairman Dances (from the opera Nixon in China), and Frédéric Chopin’s Allegro Maestoso from Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor, Op. 11. Teresa Cheung, music director and conductor of Altoona Symphony Orchestra, guest conducts the philharmonic concert. The Chopin concerto performance features pianist Soyoung Jung, a 2015 Philharmonic Concerto Competition winner and a doctoral candidate at Penn State.
