Featuring the Jazz at Lincoln Center
Orchestra Septet 
with Wynton Marsalis

As part of a long-term partnership with Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Center for the Performing Arts is pleased to present a special program created by Wynton Marsalis and featuring artists from Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. Filmed at the orchestra’s home in New York City, the concert features a welcome and commentary by Marsalis.

Performing as a septet, the musicians present a concert of newly composed works and arrangements by Marsalis and featured orchestra members. The concert focuses on the themes of freedom and democracy. 

The septet includes:

Wynton Marsalis, trumpet and music director
Elliot Mason, trombone
Ted Nash, alto saxophone
Walter Blanding, tenor saxophone
Dan Nimmer, piano
Carlos Henriquez, bass
Obed Calvaire, drums 

The concert was filmed on September 27, 2020, in the Appel Room at Frederick P. Rose Hall.
