Night Train 57
A Sensory-Friendly Comic Folk Opera
Featuring Dan and Claudia Zanes with Yuriana Sobrino
The Night Train 57 School-Time Matinee performance has been canceled.
All aboard Night Train 57, an interactive comic folk opera that invites everyone to sing and dance on a far-out ride to the galaxies and back. A chance encounter with a new neighbor, whose magical lantern and map change an ordinary picnic table into a legendary train, takes audiences on a joyous dusk-to-dawn trip.
A theremin (an electronic musical instrument controlled without physical contact), conductor hats, a crash landing, dancing flowers, rustic modern folk music, slapstick, video projections, and puppetry combine to create a performance welcoming to all students and abilities, including people with autism or other sensory sensitivities.
Night Train 57 is about the power of community, participation, imagination, and belief in the best of life’s possibilities.
