Escher String Quartet and pianist Gilles Vonsattel will make their Penn State debuts—in a program featuring the world premiere of a piece by San Francisco-born composer Anthony Cheung—at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, in Schwab Auditorium.

Darcy James Argue’s Secret Society, one of the most celebrated ensembles in contemporary jazz, will make its second appearance in State College to perform works selected from its first decade of innovative big band music.

New York City’s Ballet Hispánico will celebrate the work of women in a program featuring three dances by Latina choreographers at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, in Eisenhower Auditorium.

Last November, a capacity crowd spent an evening immersed in salsa dancing at State College Municipal Building. The free event was so popular that another two-hour Salsa Social! will take place at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, in the same location.

Joshua Bell, one of the most acclaimed classical violinists of our time, will make his first Penn State appearance in more than seven years performing in recital with pianist Sam Haywood at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, in Eisenhower Auditorium.
